Feb. 10th, 2010 03:47 pmIs LJ getting slow for anyone else?
It is disgusting out and LJ is one of my only lines to civilization.
Oh yes, and today is a snow day, didn't have to go into work today, and get to sit and hand out online while watching wall to wall news coverage of the snow. There is something just traditional about doing that during a blizzard. Even though I should probably get to washing a few dishes, and pairing the recently washed socks.
At least I was able to get out, and was able to snag a mocha latte from the Starbucks in the strip mall next door before it closed. Also picked up ingredients for kick ass hot chocolate from the grocery store which was also open. Don't know if I will make it though because I'm the only one here. I do have swiss miss as a backup, but I've been transfixed by this recipe, and am very tempted to try it.

Feb. 9th, 2010 07:37 pmOkay the epitome of laziness, who cares about the grocery store, ordered Chinese for dinner tonight, and enough for leftovers for tomorrow night.
Of course the weather people are all saying "potential for a foot of snow by the end of the day," to me that translates to we will be getting four inches with some sleet.

Feb. 8th, 2010 09:25 pmWhy am I watching Heroes? I know that by the end of this episodes, even the show may not have been renewed, it will still end on a cliffhanger of whether or not Claire and HRG will escape the trailer they have been buried in? Or will HRG finally die a tragic death which I haven't been putting below the show?
Also I've never seen such a nice, super retro carnival set up in Central Park, why can't the real ones they set up there have those nice little tents!
What is going on with the Hero storyline? In the current reality is Sylar a bad guy, or a good guy?

Feb. 4th, 2010 12:41 pmAnyone still reading their F'lists? Update time:
Started a New LJ Comm
I've started a comm about a week ago, which has taken off nicely,
ontd_latenight, comprised of users from the Ohnotheydidnt Conan O'Brien live posts two weeks ago during his last show. Made some new friends, and have kind of found a new fandom, Craig Ferguson. If you stay up late to watch him, feel free to join the comm. Also anyone from that comm should feel free to add me to their f'list.

Nov. 30th, 2009 06:30 pmI'm in no way a shipper, I know that things get a bit more mature towards the end of the Harry Potter book series, but seriously WTF?
The first few Harry Potter films are considered kids fare how will people really be able to show their families the first few Harry Potter films after this? Yes, I know JK Rowling didn't want the series to be marked towards kids but something like this probably means that in the future, people might not be purchasing the entire box set of Harry Potter.

Nov. 2nd, 2009 12:04 pmNanowrimo is a waste of time, there is no point in attempting to write a novel in a month. No one reads original fic on the net, or will read my original fic on the net. I am not a student anymore and writing a novel that no one will read is pointless.
Plot bunnies for any type of novel I might want to write, please be gone!

Oct. 17th, 2009 05:35 pmYay to uncovering the sweater collection from over the years. Seems like it is going to be quite a cold winter, and I may get to use the sweater collection. Unfortunately, nowadays so many places are overheated to the point where wearing a sweater just isn't possible, because they crank the heat up to 85 degrees so that instead of a sweater, wearing whatever shirts I have for the summer, over a hoodie is more practical for the coldest days.
Need to find hoodies and cardigans....while running around the apartment with the windows open wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt.

Oct. 13th, 2009 02:52 amHow to locate your cell phone at 3:00 AM
1. Page landline from charger, to find landline portable phone
2. Track where beeping is, it may be below sheets, it may have moved into a pile of sweaters, or behind the bed.
3. If phone cannot be found page again.
4. Once phone is located, make sure it is charged.
5. Dial your cell phone, make sure the familiar number you are dialing is that of your cell phone, and not of someone or something else. People don't get "whoops dialed you when I was trying to find my cell phone," type calls at 2:56 AM.
6. Dial cell phone, hopefully it will ring and it was not lost some time during the day.

Oct. 7th, 2009 08:10 pmWhy must good shows, or any shows that I want to be watch be on at 8:00 PM? At that hour, usually I'm not home in time to watch the show live from the beginning, or not ready to settle down and watch TV. There are a few shows, such as Mercy, I'm not getting into it because they are on at 8:00. I'm not die hard enough of a fan yet where I feel the need to go out of my way to watch it on my DVR, or online if I'm not home to watch it. I know this is the time of DVRs, and Hulu, but there is an effort in involved in sitting down, going to the site, and watching the show, when I'm not really not enthusiastic about watching.

Oct. 5th, 2009 03:23 amAshamed to admit this, but of all the shows currently on, the one I find myself looking forward to the most is Desperate Housewives. Yes it is corny at times, but the whole who strangled Julie plotline has me hooked.
Is there a Desperate Housewives fandom anywhere? It seems a bit off the beaten path for shows that that tend to get traditional fandoms. I sometimes wish LJ made finding specific fandoms on LJ a bit easier.
