Trying to read the f'list, but the f'list keeps getting quieter and quieter. Is it me or have loads of folks up and abandoned their LJs. Where have all the LJ'ers gone?

There's been a lot of LJ drama in recent years, but the exodus hasn't been standardized to one place. For the most part, I feel like everyone still checks their LJs, but not everyone is posting anymore. It's sad.

Because LJ is still my fave of the online journals/networks. :(

True, all the drama over this, that and the other hasn't helped, and it does feel like people are gradually leaving for very different services, some for insanejournal, some for facebook. However this isn't like when LJ began, and it become the center for internet fandom, and literally everyone was on it. Would have preferred a mass exodus, to some other LJ "like" service. Kind of like when people went from Yahoo Groups to LJ back in the day.

Agree, exodus has been standardized to different places. I hate to say this, but sometimes I wish a site like facebook could buy LJ. You wouldn't have to tie the two together, but it could put some life back into it. It could also give facebook a bit more credibility.

In addition, all the abandoned LJs I see are just eerie. There are a few which haven't been touched in five years, but I always wonder if the person will come back someday. Perhaps they will appear on the next inception of what is "LJ'like," which will pop up soon.
