Was having what I thought were sinus problems, then decided to go to the dentist, hearing they could be related to my teeth. One side of my face is essentially in excruciating pain, that didn't seem to go away by taking Advil and Tylanol combined.
Dentist said I had a huge cavity, and that it needed to be removed ASAP. Pain won't go away until the tooth is gone. He They tried to find an oral surgeon to do it today, but they couldn't find anyone around. Got someone to do it on a emerency basis tomorrow, but I'm still nervous. This is the first time I'm having a tooth pulled. It isn't impacted, just needs to be removed.

Howver, my entire life I've been lucky not to have had even a cavity, now I'm not sure what I'm in for tomorrow. It is supposed to be done under "local anesthetic," which isn't supposed to hurt. I hope they don't insist on general, I've never used general. I'm just nervous about the whole thing.

Oh goodness! I hope it turns out okay.

Before they start, ask them what they're going to do. It ought to make you feel better. I remember my first cavity (which was last year), and I was freaked out beyond belief. Getting the dental work done was totally fine. It didn't hurt at all (even though I hyperventilated a bit at the beginning in anticipation of pain that never came). It was the unknown that was so freaky.

Here's hoping that everything goes well and drama-free.

So far I'm good, as soon as the numbness wore off no pain. However I don't know what tomorrow will bring, I'm hoping I won't have problems at work.
