Mar. 14th, 2008 06:28 amBah, as of March 13 LJ will no longer let people sign up for basic accounts. If you want a new, free account it will have to be ad supported.
I've enjoyed my basic account for years, and liked the fact that I could post on LJ without having to worry about spyware, but still have a nice free account. I've never been a fan of huge iconage and felt th need to go beyond basic. The end of the basic account just feels like the end of an era.
