Watching the NBC Studio 60 episodes which NBC is burning off, why do I suddenly feel like I'm in some type of a time warp to the nineties? To an ER episode where Brad Whitford played the husband of a woman who died during childbirth? To a period where TV shows were all lovely and melodramatic, revolving around storylines about organ transplants, and the relationship between the recipient and the donor's family? Women who couldn't get pregnant would make a close friend or sibling the surrogate. Kid would be born and person who gave birth would inevitably become depressed over giving the kid up.

Did a post on SZ awhile back asking about why this show didn't make it, and someone responded that the show was just too "nineties," come to think of it, they were spot on!

While it is sad that this show is ending, as much as I will admit enjoying it the days of intense, character centric melodrama on TV are over.
